Volunteers at the Rocking Rotary Concert 2022

Rocking Rotary Concert 2022

We held our first Rocking with Rotary Concert at downtown Toms River at Huddy Park on June 4, 2022. We couldn't have asked for a more prefect day or better location. The weather was gorgeous so we not only had guests arrive by car and motorcycle, but also on boats. The bands played a variety of music and guests were able to relax in chairs with a beer from Battle River Brewing or dance in the park. It was so nice to see our community coming together to have a good time while supporting a great cause.

We want to thank everyone who in one way or another supported our first Rocking with Rotary Concert! There are many thanks to go around… our sponsors, vendors, food trucks, guests, club members and volunteers.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone again next year for our 2nd Rocking with Rotary Concert!

Blue Thong Society Spring Clean Up for Plus 21 House

The Blue Thong Society spent the day doing Spring clean up at the Plus 21 House. This is the group's 10 year anniversary volunteering at Plus 21 House in Ocean County. They spent the day raking, mulching, planting annuals and adding perennials, cleaning gutters, power washing the deck, shed, lawn furniture and some doing light yard maintenance for this wonderful group of people. This year the men baked a cake in honor of their tenth year. It was a beautiful day to be outside and they felt good being able to make a difference in their way. They started out 10 years ago as part of a Habitat for Humanity “Brush With Kindness” event and when they lost their funding for this after Super Storm Sandy, the Blue Thong Society decided as a group to adopt this home as their mission. SERVPRO of Toms River, along with many of our members, donated to this great cause. Our very own Janice was hard at work again this year.

Sandy Angels

With more than 1,600 participants, organizers of the Sandy Angels charity event in Seaside Park say they believe they broke a record for the most “sand angels” ever being made at one time.

In all, 1,609 people were documented to have made sand angels, which conceivably would break the Michigan record of 1,387.

The event also raised over $40,000 for hurricane victims, locally and in the Caribbean. A large portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Ocean County Long Term Recovery Group, but given recent events, organizers said they would send donations to the Salvation Army in areas affected by hurricanes Irma and Maria. OceanFirst and New Jersey Natural Gas matched donations offered by participants.
